We’re looking for kind, reliable people to join Sylvian Care South East London as Care Professionals, supporting people to live safely, independently and with dignity in their own homes.

For this vacancy, Gujarati language skills are preferred.

We’re looking for people who want to grow with us. You’ll initially join on a part-time basis, with the opportunity to gradually build up to full-time hours if desired.

No two days are the same. As a Care Professional, you’ll provide personalised home care and companionship to people across South East London, helping them continue living life their way.

What you’ll be doing

  • Offering friendly companionship and emotional support

  • Helping with personal care, including washing, dressing and toileting

  • Supporting clients with mobility and medication

  • Preparing meals and helping to keep the home tidy

  • Running errands, including shopping and collecting prescriptions

  • Engaging clients in meaningful activities to encourage social interaction and mental stimulation

  • 30p per mile paid between care calls

  • Referral bonus when your referral successfully passes probation

What we’re looking for

  • Gujarati language skills are preferred

  • A caring, patient and dependable nature

  • Good communication and people skills

  • A willingness to learn and support others

  • A driving licence and access to your own car are preferred, but not essential

  • Previous experience in caregiving or a related field is highly desirable

  • Familiarity with Alzheimer’s care, dementia care and older person care is beneficial

  • First aid and behaviour management skills are advantageous

  • Previous experience working in home care is preferred, but not essential
